If you have rats or ferrets, then you need a Critter Nation Double Unit with a stand. You need this cage like your pet needs food and water. I volunteer at an animal shelter where we house many homeless small animals and these cages are our favorite.(1) Easy to clean. (Probably the most important thing you want to know!) Pull the trays out, wipe down, and you're done. We cover ours with sheets to help keep things comfy. The doors come off very easily, making it a breeze to get the trays out. The ramp that goes from the bottom level to the top level can be hooked to the bottom of the second story, making this two complete cages vs. one large one. If you don't want to put your animals in a box or let them roam while you clean, this is a very handy feature. If you've got a pair of critters that need a time out, this feature is excellent for it. Makes cleaning the cage so much easier! I love being able to keep my rats in one half while I clean the other half. The plastic pans are a little shallow so I use towels as their primary bedding and then just throw in a few handfuls of shredded paper for them to nest with - cuts down on the mess they throw out of the cage. Plenty of room for all the accessories you want to add. Make sure you measure the space you plan to put it because it is quite large. The BEST cage I've ever had. We use it divided in half - 3 rats in the top level, 4 rats in the bottom level.It's so easy to clean! Really fun to decorate - and great design. A lot of thought went into this design because you can really change it up each time. Weighs a lot - 110 pounds - so my only suggestion is put special shipping instructions to deliver to whatever location is easiest for you. They dropped mine at my garage - never even rang the doorbell. That was difficult because we had to then bring it upstairs. Not good. |
